Don't Buy Into These "Trends" Concerning Item Upgrader

World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

Item upgrades can be used to increase the stats of an item. Depending on the upgrade type, it may boost an item's Mark Level or Rarity, as well as boost other stats.

Upgrading gear in The War Within requires a specified number of Flightstones and Crests, and each item has an upgrade track.  Resource  increases the cost of the next item by a specified amount.

Item Level

The value of an item's basic stats increases when it is upgraded. The value is the sum of all of an item's leveled-up perks (attack magic attack and defense). Upgrades can be costly, dependent on who you employ and what you do. This is due to how many perks have to be replaced to allow the item to get upgraded.

Item level is a popular measurement of power and can be seen on all tooltips for items. It also serves to limit how much PvP gear players can wear as PvP is restricted at lower levels. Players can view their average item level in their character sheet.

When deciding whether to purchase or sell equipment, players can compare the item level. It's a useful gauge of an item's worth and how much damage it will be able to deal. Comparing items in the inventory of a seller is possible using the item's level.

The level of the item can be viewed by pressing the ALT key on your PC or using the left stick (L3) on XB1 and PS4. This will display the item's full description, including the ilvl. You can also locate it by hovering over an item and typing /itemlevel into chat.

There are many theories about the method by which the level of an item is determined. One theory says that the level of an item is determined by an equation that determines the value of an item's stats actually are. It considers the fact that various perks have different value and that gems in sockets increase the value of the item overall. This could result in an item's ilvl calculated, which is often very close to Blizzard's actual item level.

However, this is not the only factor that can affect an item's ilvl since the level of the area the item is dropped into can alter the value of its stats, for example by adding an amount to its crit rating or haste rating. Items that drop in higher-level situations will have higher ilvl.

Item Stats

Item stats are a big component of what determines the value of an item for players. The game uses a variety of them in various ways to encourage players to use multiple weapons, and prevent one weapon from being "the most effective." The stat mods of a weapon boost the base stats. These stat mods are then enhanced by the player's level.

Upgrades to an item can increase the stats of an item. The cost of upgrades is determined by the rarity of the item. An item that is white or grey for instance, will only be upgraded once and items with rare tiers can be upgraded multiple times at higher costs.

Another method of altering the stats on an item is by affixing it. They are stat boosts that can be added by the player to an item. The affixes can be used to give items additional damage, special capabilities (such as reviving dead or reducing cooling downs), or to make them unique by putting a name on them.

All affixes are currently re-rolled by selecting them in the upgrade window, pressing the green button. This process will cost the player a certain amount of gold and other items which can be added to the upgrade gauge in the same way as other rerolling options.

In addition to rerolling affixes, players can select which of the available stats they want to keep on an item after it is upgraded. The range of stats determined by the item's level. However each item will contain at least one stat within the same range, unless it's an item that is unique, or the item is a God Roll from a boss in a raid.

Another thing that could be altered by introducing an option to upgrade the equipment without rerolling the affixes, or selecting which stats to enhance. As with the base equipment, this will have to be done per item, and the interface for item comparison will not show all possible stats simultaneously.

Item Luck

A player's Luck stat stacks up to increase the likelihood of finding items, the properties spawned on loot drops, and the intensity of the properties. However, it does not directly affect damage or ability to upgrade items. It simply gives the player a chance to acquire better equipment in earlier waves, and is therefore more beneficial in early game runs as opposed to later ones, since most players prefer higher weapon scaling and defenses over damage gains.

In addition to influencing item discovery, Luck also increases the chance of being successful when upgrading items using the Blacksmith. This is not to be confused with the Blacksmith's overall upgrade probability that increases with each level and can be further increased through the use of an anti-material such as a Scroll of Strength or a Jewel of Blessing.

Weapons, armor, and shields can be created or spawned using the Luck property, which has a default value of 40. These items can be augmented by using golden ingots or spined leather (depending on their material type) to add another 40 luck or to boost the Luck of an item up to 140.

Additionally, certain items, like the Hollow weapon that is infused with hollow, can be equipped to boost the damage of any damage-dealing skill by five percent. These items can be purchased in the shop or created by using the appropriate ingredients.

Item Failure

Not all upgrades work. Cash shop items can be used to increase the success rate of an upgrade, or to protect players from losing their item in the event that it does not work.

The rate of success of an upgrade is shown in the Honing UI. The percentage represents the probability of successfully upgrading the item and it can be increased by adding Additional Materials or Special Materials. There are limitations on how much success rates can be increased and the chance of a failed upgrade cannot be greater than 100%..

The performance of an upgrades is also influenced by the luck of that item. All items have an average success rate of 25 percent and each item with Luck increases this chance by five percent.

The upgrade overlays for items are rendered above items in the inventory. This may block enchantment effects as well as other effects. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
